Miel Kali is a Filipino blade system that emphasizes the use of knife, short and long sword techniques in a real time environment; with a minor emphasis on empty-hand striking and grappling techniques; shield, sarong, spear and tomahawk are also practiced. Practitioners of this system rely less on give-and-take drills, instead progression is through free sparring using blade rules.This system is a synthesis of the Miel family system, with heavy influence from Inosanto Kali, DBMA, and Sayoc Kali.
